why financial therapy?
There’s only so much a budget spreadsheet will tell you. And looking only at your numbers is going to leave you lacking a core understanding of why you make the financial decisions you do.
How’s your financial mental health, really? Do you continue to overspend, even though you swore last time would be the last time? Or perhaps your depression, shame or anxiety about money is interfering with other aspects of your life—like running your business or truly connecting with your partner.
No matter what’s landed you here, as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Financial Therapist, I’m here to help individuals and small business owners understand more about the psychology of money and to develop a healthy money attitude. There’s no judgment here, just a way out of the fog into financial confidence and clarity.
We’ll work together to:
- Explore your decision-making matrix© to see how your financial decisions are impacting your life.
- Help you connect with your intuition and learn to listen when it comes to money.
- Look for money patterns, stories, subconscious beliefs and blocks and approach them with compassionate curiosity.
- Create a few financial action steps to get you started, and then keep exploring what comes up and tracking the numbers.
- Figure out how to share your financial action plan with your partner, family members or friends (I know this can be difficult!)
- Help you separate your business and personal monies to increase clarity
I’ll support you every step of the way as you create your new financial world. I offer financial counseling in the form of hourly sessions or day intensives in my Denver office or virtually. Clients can use Health Savings Accounts and Flex Spending Accounts for payment. If you have Out of Network Benefits with your insurance provider, I can provide receipts for filing.
